Wellbutrin and Stimulants

I have been wellbutrin for a few months now and I decided to start taking fat burners this week. The combination made me so dizzy, and I have used fat burners and clen in the past without any problems. I took them for 2 days, then switched to clen...I lasted one day. It seems any combination with wellbutrin does'nt work well for me. Anybody else on wellbutrin experience this problem?

DUDE, WTF?

Wellbutrin inhibits the reuptake of epinephrine. What do stimulants do? They increase the production of epi and norepinephrine. Taking stimulants like clenbuterol with wellbutrin sounds like a great way to die....

Wellbutrin causes an increase in norepinephrine, serotonin and dopamine. I am not an expert on this...this why I wrote what I did. On the manufacturer insert it says nothing about taking wellbutrin with stimulants.. http://us.gsk.com/products/assets/us_wellbutrinXL.pdf

Wellbutrin doesn't increase the production of, but essentially blocks the exit of epi and norepinephrine from the synapse of the brain. (hence the term reuptake inhibitor.) Therefore, all of the epi and norepinephrine that is present is allowed to bind to receptors.

When you take a stimulant that drastically increases the production of the two, you will be very much over-simulated. Because it isn't exiting the synapse like its supposed to normally.

what POANTREX mentioned is correct... add to this the fact the wellbutrin is used to help people stop smoking because it is actually considered one of the more stimulating psychopharmaceuticals to begin with. Adding clen to the mix is a def. NO-NO

I found this out this out the hard way, ephedra is also a bad mix. Caffine is the only thing that mixes without any problems, but I would like to use a fat burner that will work well. Most fat burners, I realise are'nt going to mix.

Hell, wellbutrin by itself is a fatburner.

True on what poantrex said.
Wellbutrin, while inhibits NE reuptake pump also decrease NA-neuron firing which could be modulated/upregulated by either an alpha-antagonist or beta-agonist (clenbuterol) which would lead to a rapid accumulation of NE. Accumulation and binding of NE in the peripheral systems leads to bad side-effects, like hypertension, restlessness, dizziness, etc.

But it also depends on tolerance - I am taking Wellbutrin concurrently and have taken it before and well tolerated most of the stimulants (recretional including) except yohimbine (alpha2-antagonist) and synephrine (alpha1-agonist).

Hey Juve,
always pleasure reading your posts :)

Are you using the Wellbutrin as an anti-depressant ? Along with an SSRI maybe? Or maybe for appetite supression ?

I've been using Provigil at 200mg twice a day and all I can say is WWOO Modafinil is some good too good to be true shit (though extremely expensive at high dosages). It's main advtage is instant effect (1 hours) as opposed to other options of 2-4 weeks. Just curious about your experience.. Did you happen to compare the two ?

JUNK :supercool

Thanks for a concern :)
I am taking Wellbutrin as an adjunct to my anti-'manic depression' regimen and as an attempt to stay away from rec drugs.
I completely agree on Modafinil - I have like a lifetime supply of it. Sometimes take up to 600mg a day - one of the better CNS-preferrential stimulants ever procured.

I hope nobody here self medicates with anti-depressants. Using any type of anti-depressant will cause sometimes permanant changes in receptor affinity for seratonin, dopamine and (nor)adrenaline - and ceasing their use will result in debilitating fatigue and depression because the body has become dependant on it. Wellbutrin isn't as bad in some people...although some report dependance on it. but disconuing SSRI use will cause massive depression most of the time.
