Weight Training and golf -- conflicting interests?

I'd recommend it, many pros have to work out for their strength to stay at the top of their game, plus it will help increase your longevity for the sport.

The idea that weight lifting takes away from most any sport should be left back in the 70's from which it came.

you mean he's not going to turn into the Hulkster over night and be so over come with his new found strength he'll snap the club like a twig when he snags it from the bag?

hehe :)

Lift bro, lift.

Random memory:
Didn't some guy post a thread here saying that he wanted to look "jacked like Tiger Woods" at one point? I guess it was a nice break from "Brad Pitt in Fight Club."

Do not worry. The new muscles will help you gain insight. Insight may help you pick a better game, or even a sport to play in your free time. Worst case you get strong and quit golf. Not a bad days work.

Is golf not manly enough for you?

No it's not that. Al's an economist and he's frustrated by the inequities displayed by the population density of poor, urban areas versus the large surface area requirements of golf courses that feature manicures grass and 18 holes and serve mainly the rich while driving up property values of the local affluents while further minimizing the residential opportunities of the disadvantaged.

It's a touchy subject with him, I wouldn't go there if I were you.
