warm up

If that works for you.
I'll either do some quick stretching or wilson pilates.
(I have a home gym with a TV and VCR so I just us the tapes for the pilates)
 
My gym is a little over a mile away, so normally I walk there at a fairly brisk pace and then stretch out before lifting. If I drive there, I'll do 5-10 minutes on the bike or walking on the treadmill.
 
I walk at a quick pace on the treadmill for 5 minutes, and then stretch, before my workout.
 
Usually I do cardio before lifting (yes, a big no-no normally, but it works best for ME and my goals). So I am warm, red-faced and sweaty. Quite the attractive picture. lol

But honestly, when I don't do cardio before I usually don't do a cardio warm up. I do 2-3 warm up weight sets, then go for it. This works for me.
