Waking up....

Late with an empty stomach, what do you guys do... go from eating every 3 hours to maybe 1.30-2hrs to make sure you eat enough cals and protein for the day, or do you stay up later than usual and cut into your sleeping to get that extra meal or 2?:confused:
 
Hell, I remember a time when I would wake in the middle of the night for quick meal....

I'll eat a slower digesting protein last meal (egg whites)with a handful of almonds and I'm "good" until the 1st meal the next day.
 
Well yeah, thats cool. Eggs are more slow releasing than whey, casien is more slow releasing than both. The fat from the PB slows it even further. Its all about staying positive in nitrogen for as long as possible during sleeping hours.

Cottage cheese is a good shout if you want solid food
 
This is what I do, except for the peanut butter. I take a tbsp of liquid fish oil here instead. Sometimes I will just scramble up 6 whole omega eggs and eat those before bed :chomp:

You like your oils shakes as well if I remember right? Olive oil/ Flax/ fish oil + Casien/ whey is all good

This sucks on a workout day.

I would stay up later and eat. Food and sleep are both important, but my body demands calories more than it needs sleep.
 
Have to disagree, fell asleep this morning when I got out the shower and even though I only slept for about half an hour felt so much better than if I had eaten a meal, felt more energised too.

Yes!!!

I like to add two tbsp of olive oil to 75g protein shake. That's an easy 500 calories on the go. I don't do flax oil though.
 
i would set my alarm and get up to eat if i was in that situation. i sleap at 2 different times in 24hrs now. i have done this for the last year. i sleep once for 5 hours drinking a casein shake with pb and powder oats before that sleap and before i sleap for 3 hours i eat a steak and potatoes with broccoli meal.
 
SL... Why no flax?

I think flax meal is ok. High in fiber and efas. Flax is believed to be estrogenic, but I am not sure how much you would need to consume to raise estro. I use quite a bit of fish oil for my omega 3 and I get efas from almonds and walnuts. I have no real need for flax.
 
Having a night job sucks, it throws my sleep schedule and eating schedule out the window... so days i get up 11-12 and its hard to get all my meals in
 
Pre bedtime shake:

1-1.5 scoops Casein or Muscle Milk
1 1/2 cups skim milk
1/2 cup Low Sugar OJ
1-2 Tbsp Olive Oil
3-4 Egg Whites

Then sleep:D

my stomach would kill me all night right there if i drank that...


-2scoops casein sometimes with skim, and little glutamine thats all i drink at night

Agreed that night jobs suck. I work from 3pm-11pm. Im up at 7:20am for my 1st meal, in the gym by 8, and dont have time to take a nap before i go into work. Sucks
