So....does "War and Peace" have alot of pictures?

No, but it has about 1,400 pages. :)

I have a thermometer named Fred. I like Fred.

Still Mittelschmerzing, spatts? :(

Ceebs...no. Only happens if I'm on something. Weird, huh?

I never named my thermometer. I did name the resulting progeny though.

;)

I LOVE my IUD too ;) I didn't start thinking about it as an option until spatts kept posting P A R A G A R D in every thread about contraception... :FRlol: I was like what the hell let me do a little researching.

Slinky and NubianBeauty - I don't think either of you have children; how did you get your doctor to prescribe it? That's the battle I've been fighting. Even though I tell her I really don't want to have children.

Mr Stamina - I need to research the sponge, but I think it's pretty effective.

As far as doubling up, I really just don't trust condems - they seem to break when you least want them to. :-) Plus, my man REALLY doesn't like them. Of course, if he got a vasectomy, we'd be golden. Yeah, right - like that's gonna happen. Meanwhile, I'm the one who gets to stress every freakin' month, especially since my damn cycles are so irregular.

Girl make his ass strap up!!! He can use a method then you use another... fuck that wondering if you're prego every month! Or the 2 of you could just switch to oral sex... hmmmm ;)

BTW.. I do have children :)

JJ: I went to a women's clinic and the doctor (a woman) is the one who suggested I consider a IUD. She provided me with a bunch of reading material and I also performed a bit of research on the internet.

I scheduled an appointment that week. My insurance even covered the entire procedure. Oh, and the doctor and her assistant both had/have IUDs'. Both didn't have children, too.

I'm glad the Sponge is back. However, isn't it around 89% in it's effectiveness? Or around that percentage? I KNOW there is a website that lists all the available contraception in the US; with information on each. It also lists what isn't available. I gotta find that site....

Now the trick is finding someone that is "spongeworthy"...guess it would be harder to find someone that wasn't...

I don't have children and I have an IUD. The fact that I was unwavering in my decision not to have children in the future, the doctor was comfortable giving me an IUD. I think doctors try to err on the side of caution. If you were to want children later, there is a very slight risk that the IUD could cause internal damage making fertility/pregnancy difficult. The only downside of not having children and getting an IUD is the insertion process - it hurts, but it's over in a flash.
