vacation, East Coast, clear/grean waters ?

Puddles is dying to say go to Key West. But go to Hilton head.

Both would be great, I think nice beaches would be first though, we can always find a party, or a dive bar.

You could stay/party in Daytona and head north a few miles to Ormond-by-the-sea and Painters Hill. These are two of the nicest beaches on the east coast imo. They might not be "tropical" but they are very nice and have that old Florida vibe. Daytona is only about two hours south if the state line too.

Also..... Check this site out. You can usually find a nice house or condo to rent for cheaper than a hotel/motel.

Looking for a vacation spot in August. Heading out of Nc, 4 people. We go to Nagshead allot and Myrtle. Looking to go somewhere new.

Been to Florida a bunch but normally the panhandle out of the Gulf.

Wanted to get everyones thoughts or tips on where we could go. Looking for nice beaches and some clear/green water to get that caribbean feel.

Right now we are looking at Siesta Key and Miami, though Miami is a hike and there are some turn offs... we like a good atmosphere, we're 30...but that may be a little wild for us, and the flaunting of money isnt really a plus.

Any ideas?

We would hit the keys but kind of far ... We will be driving, so any thoughts ?

Wilmington/wrightsville beach usually has the nicest water north of florida...it can be touch and go depending on big storms, but they haven't had any yet...

This was hatteras a few weeks ago...clearest I've ever seen it. I was in neck high water and could see my feet:
