Uneven muscles - what can I do??

Nickels

New member
My left tricep and peck, as well as my right shoulder are bigger than their counterparts (from canoeing - I usually stroke on my left side - thus the muscles that are used in this process are bigger). What the hell can I do to balance this out?? I've only been working out for 2 months - will they balance out eventually? If so - how long will this take - can I do anything to help this along?
Thanks.

that sucks, it's gonna be kinda hard to get the pec up, there's not much you can do to train chest like that. my calves were 1" different in size because of skateboarding, it took my 1.5 years to get them the same size.

the arm will be easy, with the chest I'd say the best bet is to train normally for 2-3 exercises and then add one exercise where you train just the lagging pec (hammer strength press comes to mind) it's gonna take alot of patience.

train them with the same intensity they will even out

You should eventually even out, even without any unilateral training but I'm not sure how unbalanced you are.

You can also try one arm pec deck for your weaker pec.

I would not recommend training one side more than the other. If you are going to do unilateral exercises, do the weak side first, and then do the same number of reps on the strong side. They will even up some over time, but much of it is genetic.
