I've heard he does some voice work in this one but no cameo.

SPOILER BELOW - Swipe to read:

He is CGI'd in during one scene. Kinda in the background...basically hes in the process of being built.

Fortunately the book and film are nothing like whats represented in the trailer. This isnt some bullshit Mad Max / I Am Legend ripoff.

The book killed me. You should read it.

waddya mean? The trailer looking fucking awesome. Is the book sad? I can't take sad...........like if they got to his wife, I couldn't read that part. My blood starts to boil.

The book is...sad may be the wrong work. Bleak as shit would be correct. The ending is kind of an upper, but only if you sorta forget the rest of what happened.

Some spoilers below if you want to know more. Ill put it this way, if you liked that trailer you wont like the movie. Youll respect it, but hate it for making you feel like shit.

Spoilers (swipe):

An asteroid has destroyed the earth. The wife you only see in flashbacks because she killed herself when their kid was young. No sunlight, no food, and people turning to cannibalism in order to stay alive finally got to her, so she said "Fuck the kid, I dont wanna live like this" and offed herself.

The "trek" that the man and the boy go on is really, honestly to nowhere. He just wants to keep the son moving for the sake of keeping him alive as long as possible. There is literally no other motivation for them travelling. The story is really about how much the dad loves his kid, and how he thinks its his duty to keep him alive for as long as possible even though theres nothing whatsoever to look forward to.

There is one brilliant line in the book that sums it all up: Later is not an option. This is later.

spoliers no workie........
