The worst Penn performances have been taking the worlds greatest fighters to the brink of defeat. We should feel honored to experience such athletic greatness in our lifetime as few of us can hope to approach this man's ability. Same should be said of Matt Hughes, Georges St. Pierre, Chuck Liddell, and many other professional fighters. The reason we bicker back and forth is because these men give their blood, sweat, and tears in closely contested combat and provide us with fights that thrill and excite us. Though we have our favorites we must realize our favorites are defined by their adversaries. Our favorites are great in part because their adversaries drive them to greatness. This, gentlemen, is the sum and substance of MMA's beauty.
