Is it best to buy a whole turkey and cook it, instead of buying turkey breast form the deli? If so, which is better for you the white or dark meat?

The white meat has less fat and automatically less call per serving then dark meat, here are the stats both for 10oz serving, and you decide which you prefer
Turkey: Dark Meat, boneless, no skin, roasted
Calories 462 ( Kilojoules 1932 ) % Daily
Value* Total Fat 13.2 g 20% Saturated Fat - 0% Cholesterol - 0% Sodium - 0% Total Carbohydrates 0 g 0% Dietary Fiber 0 g 0% Sugars 0 g Protein 85.9 g

Turkey: Light Meat, boneless, no skin, roasted
Calories 396 ( Kilojoules 1658 ) % Daily
Value* Total Fat 3.3 g 5% Saturated Fat - 0% Cholesterol - 0% Sodium - 0% Total Carbohydrates 0 g 0% Dietary Fiber 0 g 0% Sugars 0 g Protein 92.5 g

Preparing whole turkeys is a bitch.

If you are interested in consuming whole turkeys, but lean ground turkey.

100grams have:
-20grams of protein
-5 grams of fat
-125 calories

Pretty good. I personally consume the lean ground stuff and the breast, but am careful not too add any carbs if am eating the higher fat stuff (well normally at least LoL.)

Just buy the turkey breast cutlets - you can find them in the meat dept. usually around where the chicken is....

cutlets, or whole raw breast and cut the 'cutlets' yourself..

many of the commercial turkey patties are not so bad in terms of fatcals/totalcals ratio and make very easy cooking, accept spicedusting well.

I am made of about 75% turkey at this point. i love it. it loves me.

Any suggestions on stores? All mine out here don't carry turkey breasts, matter of fact they don't really carry turkey unless it's November... (stores such as Vons, Albertsons, Ralphs)

I've been looking to get my hands on some quality turkey breasts for a long time, but I can't seem to find any anywhere... :(
