When eating tuna should i go with mir. whip lite or reg mayo??? On low carb i used real mayo so that is what I have. Now that i'm not doing so much atkins really anymore i'm unsure what to use.
I want to make a tuna salad with egg, mayo and mustard.

NOT ALL FATS ARE "BAD"- Whole grain carbs: fiber; nuts, which include healthy monounsaturated and polyunsatarated fats;protein such as lean meats and fish are good FATS.

Not so good: "AVOID"--- ADDED sugars, simple carbs, fructose as in high-fructose corn syrup, trans fats, saturated fats, NON-whole grain flour, and enriched and or bleached flours.

It's my simple rule.

Never tried pineapple juice~ will do... on Tuna I drown it with salsa, Trader Joes has a really great LOW SODIUM salsa I think its called Roasted garlic lovers salsa??? yellow & red label. Funny thing~ I was eating my salsa smothered tuna the other day and my Hubby alked by with an odd look an asked what the hell I was eating... I just said... PIZZA!
Amie :chomp:

Pinapple juice is delicious with tuna.
Also homemade salsa & tuna

hmm, I will try the avocado and maybe the salsa although i'm not sure i'd like those two things together. But i'm still unsure of what to use when I just want plain old tuna salad for the kids and I. I think miracle whip lite is good but it has high fructose corn syrup, i am guessing maybe a lower fat mayo???

Garlic Mayo:

1 egg yolk
2 Tbs. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. grated lemon zest
1 minced garlic clove
1 tsp. capers- drained and rinsed
Black pepper to taste
1/4 cup PURE-PRESSED extra vigrin olive oil
1/4 cup PURE-PRESSED canola oil
1 Tbs. fresh parsley

In a blender, combine egg yolk, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic, capers and black pepper. With motor running, gradually add oils, blending until sauce is smooth and creamy. Remove to a bowl amd stir in parsley. Taste and adjust sesaonings.

Makes about 3/4 cup.

ENJOY!

I hated tuna but had to start eating it this comp season.

This recipe has gotten me through it, and now I LOVE tuna

2-3 tins of tuna (or foil packets of tuna steaks)

Drain and rinse well

Break up the tuna steaks or chunks and mix in 3-4 egg whites (or two eggs)

3-4 chopped spring onions/green onions

Flavor with salt and pepper

Optional: a small amount of cooked oatmeal or brown rice

I have been experimenting with this recipe, and lately instead of green onions, salt and pepper, I have been throwing in Moroccan spices (cumin, coriander, etc............), no spring onions

Cooking:

One cal spray in a non-stick pan

These are great hot or cold, I make up about 9 tuna patties from three tins in advance.

Makes dieting easy, they are so easy to transport.
