True or False

False. Carbs + fat does not equal bad. This is a myth. I've got like a one page long expanination somewhere on the diet board.

carbs + fat does not = bad???

i'll do a search for your explanation. it's so hard to get a straight answer these days...

I can try to find it, but I've posted close to 1000 post since then. Still, it is something I get tired of trying to explain. People ask this question almost every day. Someone should make a sticky for it. Its a totally ignorant idea, and has no science to back the idea. Yet thousands of bodybuilders (and only bodybuilders by the way) believe it.

I really dont buy all that stuff. Ok, it may have a little substance if you are looking for the optimum optimum way of eating, but I cant see it making any significant difference to anyone but the most elite of athletes. There are so many other things to get right before this. If anybody can prove me wrong I'd be interested to hear...

I can see where you are coming from, I was just interested in the exchange of information concerning this topic. I too have heard this time and time again and just wanted some feedback.

Not everyone is or can be an elite athlete (including me), but that DOES NOT mean we can't conduct ourselves like we were.

Totally agree man, thats y I'd like to hear from anyone with good experiences of this, just think most need to stop sweating the small stuff :)

I have been seperating fats and carbs and have had good success as a result. Although I have read BBF's stuff and he makes alot of sense. I think it's John Berardi who touted the dont mix carbs + fats. He wrote the reasons which also make sense but although i am seperating fats and carbs, common sense says it shouldnt really matter unless you're eating high gi carbs.

Depends on what kind of fats? Crisco, butter, etc bad - but you need good fat such as in nuts, salmon, etc.

PS: Karma is always welcome here!

Salmon oil is probably the best fat one can possibly eat. Everyone here does get at least 6 grams of it a day right?
