I'm on my first cycle right now and for the 1st part of it I was eating everything in sight and gaining too much fat and retaining too much water although my muscle gains were sick and strength was way improved. Then I cut back too drasically reducing my carbs too far..lost some strength or so it felt, now I got it down and I'm growing really well.
And I don't think I was drinking enough water early on, makes me feel much better drinking a gallon or more a day.
