Training Splits

I do :

Day 1: Chest, tri's
Day 2: Back, Bi's
Day 3: Shoulders, Traps
Day 4: Legs

I take a day off whenever I feel I need a break, but keep the same order.

I do abs and calves when I feel like is - usually every other workout.

Day 1: Chest/Back
Day 2: Legs
Day 3: Arms/Shoulders

Cardio 2-3 times a week..not much right now..Sometimes I change my split but I usually stick to this one..Heavy one week, light the next week.

Day 1: Chest, bis, calves, abs

Day 2: Quads, hams, shoulders

Day 3: Rest

Day 4: Back, tris, forearms, abs

Day 5: Rest

Day 6: Chest, bis, calves, abs

Day 7: Rest

Day 8: Quads, hams, shoulders, abs

Day 9: Back, tris, forearms

etc. etc.

However, will be switching shoulders and tris sometime soon, I think. Shoulders need extra attention.

This split hits every part every 5-6 days. I seemed to be detraining on a weekly schedule. But I've notched up the intensity since then , and am considering dropping back to once a week per body part ('cept maybe calves and abs). Does everyone here work everything only once a week?

I follow an 8-day routine.
day 1: chest
day 2: deadlift, SLDL, hamstrings
day 3: shoulders
day 4: rest
day 5: back
day 6: legs (quads + calves)
day 7: arms
day 8: rest

and ooover and over again my friend..... (lyrics by Neil Young)

mon: legs & calves
tue: bi's & tri's
wed: rest, 1 hr cardio
thu: back
fri: shoulders & chest
sat: rest 1 hr cardio
sun: rest 1 hr cardio

On my weight training days I do 30min of cardio. And I train abs usually about 2-3 times a week depending on how sore they are. I like them to always be sore. Also depending on how my legs feel I will through in sprints and plyo's on Sat if they are not still sore.

How about cardio? For those of you who do it - do you do it after weights or on a day that you don't do weights?

Just curious...

i was wondering about that, too. Is it advisable to do cardio on the same day? Normally, I do cardio and Pilates 6 days per week. Can I continue to do that while weight training? Should I do the weights first, or the cardio?

That's an idea. I was under the impression that the two did different things - that weight lifting built muscle and the Pilates lengthened it. Is that an incorrect assumption?
