trailer lighting problem..

juiceddreadlocks

rebuilding, getting there
Platinum
I figure someone here has encountered this...

I am using a 7 prong to 4flat adapter. when I turn the lights on I get nothing on the trailer. However, the brake lights and turn signals both work on the trailer.

Where should I start?

Start by taking a very fine grit sandpaper and clean those prongs!
If thats a no go the a small wire brush to clean the contacts inside the lens case.

Worst case scenenario a complete rewiring job.

RADAR

or the bulbs....but start where radar..said..get yourself an helper and a test light to see if there is juice at the wires...then worry about getting them to blink...

It could be the watt of bulb u have in the trailer
I used to own a lumina van with alot of lights in the taillight....and i got the wrong bulb once and it messed it up till i got the right bulbs.
also, had a car once that i got the wrong bulb and the brake lights stayed on till i got the right bulbs

hey, sorry. Thanks for the replies, but I accidentally left part of the story out. I just got a new truck to pull the trailer with and the trailer lights work with my old jeep, so I know the trailer portion works
