To help or not to help?

I know there have been threads like this before (gstacker made one too i believe) but in between my sets i was watching these kids and they have such good work ethic, but their routines are fucking pathetic. I thought they were assholes cuz the last time i saw them in the locker room they were obnoxious, but i asked to work in with them today on bench and they were cool about it. During their sets, they NEVER come close to touching their chest, and their feet come up off of the ground. I told them that if they arch their back and plant their heels into the ground that it will help generate more force in their bench, and it helped them lift at least 3-4 more reps than their previous set. They thanked me and went on.

Their routine is something like; Flat BB, Incline BB, Decline BB, Flat DB, Flat Flyes, Preacher Curl, BB Curl, DB Curl, Tricep Kickbacks.

The kids are probably between 14-16 years old, and have a lot of potential. They put up a respecable amount of weight, even for halfassing on bench. Should i tell them about squats/deads and their benefits or not? I don't like to give out advice because

1. i don't look the part
2. whenever my friends ask me and i tell them something diff than a trainer, they call me "expert" and it's kinda annoying.

Any input is greatly appreciated! Sorry, i know there have been threads like this but i have never seen anyone get more pumped than they get before a bench and it just got me thinking about it a lot during my workout.

dont do it, i dont give any advice to people in person for two reasons:
-they wont listen or they will say im wrong
-if they started to get big the limelight would come off from me at school and people would notice them being big haha

Lol listen to EM that is the best reason ever not to help them hahha;)

I don't know much, but if they want to get big they would look it up themselves, takes some initiative as many of us have, or are trying to. I personally don't like to tell anyone because i want to get big, and be the big one hehe. But online i think helping each other out is better, because were the ones who have taken the extra step to learn all this in my opinion =D

Shibs- that's a very good point. There is a good chance the fat kid might sit on me!

To everyone else- I am not competitive in the way where i want to get bigger and i want everyone else to lag behind me so i am the best. I compete with the only person I am training for and that is myself. I was in the position most guys at the gym are in fixated on machines, and I really wish someone would have told me about working out for real a lot sooner. I think it's very self-serving not to give someone advice because you're afraid that they will look better than you after they start lifting. I would actually be proud of myself if I helped someone get stronger than me who was weaker before they asked my advice (although that's not hard at the moment haha).

I am not trying to question everyone's morals here, but I just want to emphasize that I think it's a bit self-serving if the person is nice and willing to learn and if they ask you for help you just ignore them because your ego is bigger than gladiators.

Yeah I know i mostly just kidding;):D

Two things: Do they want your help? Do you want to take the time out of your training to help them out? I say if yes to both, then go for it. I enjoy helping people reach their fitness goals, and as well all know - things like form and routine have a great effect on results.

I am totally differant, in my mind Im competing with everyone else my age or my experience. I cant help it but Im super competetive when it comes to muscles, strength, weights and that sorta stuff. And if I gave someone help and they got bigger and/or stronger than me I would be super pissed off unless they were an adult, but you said you would be proud, I just dont think like that lol. I take pride in being the only person my age who takes weightlifting as seriously as I do (i think im the only one anyway...) and I wouldnt want anyone else to take that away by being harder working or bigger or stronger.

lol yes lifting isnt as big over here as it is in the US

i dont offer any advice unless it is asked for, or if they are doing something dangerous.
