I am a 50 yr old woman in fairly good shape and my body still responds very well to exercise. I would like to try to reduce the size of my thighs through diet and exercise... Does any have any tips or suggestions as to how i can attain my goal?

If you are looking for a new program - take a look at the stickies at the top of the board - there are links for several sample meal plans and also a great little program called "The Shadow Project" that several of the girls followed very successfully last year.

As far as specifically targeting your thighs - welcome to the wonderful world of estrogen - that's where the Maker decided it would be useful us girls to carry some extra fat. Two thing you can do - keep consistent w/ diet & training to lose bodyfat - where there are greater concentrations of fat cells, will look like the slowest spots to respond - so you just keep plugging away - can't spot reduce. And second, diet & train to continue to build muscle - more muscle makes bodyfat look less "squishy" or "loose".

^^^ :) :wavey: Welcome :D

Sadly the golden era gang was wrong thinking one could spot reduce :( But with a good nutrition, weight training and cardio program you can lose fat overall, including your thighs. :)

What are your current stats? Nutrition habits? What kind of routine do you do at the moment, etc. With that information, it will be a lot easier to give you advice.

Oh, and welcome to Elite. You will find that this is a great community full of helpful people. Enjoy your stay.
