Things are getting dangerous: Thousands of illegal criminal immigrants march in Illinois demanding amnesty!

lol @ "me" having identity problems. DJ_UFO, re-read your post man, carefully. Who do you think has identity problems? I embrace what I am, I contribute to the society where I live EXACTLY as any german-born, I have all the same rights and responsibilites (except the right to vote, for now).

Why should I despise what I am? The only reason why we left Vzla was because we completely disagreed with the Politics of the Country and that was not the environment I wanted for my family to grow.

If the US goes to shit, will you stay and rot with it or will you look for better opportunities for you and yours?

I would not think about it twice to go back to Vzla if it turns for the beter (and that starts by getting rid of Chavez) because you only have ONE country, regardless of how many years you live somewhere else you will always be an "EXTRANJERO" (oops, sorry, did that word hurt your ears? my bad). I could easily invest in Venezuela if I wanted, interest rates are on my side, but we don't, we invest here, as expensive as it is, because as it is right now, this is our home, our son was born and we can foresee a life here.

Idealism and Patriotism are one thing, being stupid, naive and blind is an entirely different cup of tea.

Btw, I "forgot" to mention. What opinion do you have of your American fellows who come to live in Europe and:

1. Show no interest AT ALL to learn the local language, and even worse, expect absolutely EVERYBODY to speak with them in English? They go to a store, party or anywhere and don't even ask if the people speak english, they simply start talking and that is. At the beginnind I usually jumped in to help as interpreter, now I only do it for tourists.
2. Put their kids in "International schools" because GOD FORBID they learn something different than the American way
3. Show no respect whatsoever, nor interest, for the local culture?
4. After X numbers of years here, still compare to Dollar prices and bitch when stuff is more expensive here or they can pay with Credit Cards

These are only small things off the top of my head, if the debate was worth it I could come up with a LONG list of equivalents to "listening to salsa, eating burritos, crossing red lights"... ooops. I just remembered another one, passing on the right lane as that is strictly forbidden in this country, all the cars I see doing it have, GASP, american military plates.

I'm sick and tired of seeing this phenomen day in and day out, I have the luck (or lack of) of living in a VERY american-popular region of Germany. I'm sure Hengst has seen this in the NL as well.

Now, don't take the easy way out and say "ahh, the problem is you hate americans", far from it, I actually have ties to the US. My 2 brothers were born there, while my parents were doing their Masters back in the 60s. One of them remains in Vzla and the other lives in Miami, since 12 years. He now owns a business (after being fucked by a cuban "friend" and employs 13 people, all legal btw). I love going there on Vacations, shit is cheap and you can realliy stretch your vacation-money.

Every coin has two sides, bro. Some even say it has three

ah, yes, I remember when UN and NATO soldiers came in my country. They drove around like they own the world. I remember (when I worked as waitress) two civilian dressed men came in the bar and started asking me questions about our political situation and how is our relationship with the serbs and with the albanians. This was before anything on Kosovo happened. I remember going to the grocerie store and (thank God) heard a soldier speaking very much broken macedonian. He was probably there for a longer time, so he picked up something. This is what I want to point out to all americans that always complained about older ladies that came to US and hardly speak english (but still try to) - that they would be the same if they went to another country and tried to learn the language there. Thats if they do. I have heard americans in my country complain about the shower head, cause most of them are not fixed on the top, so you have to hold it as you are taking a shower

LOL LOL LOL LOL Too funny
These folks really get on my nerves. I've got tons of stories like these too. But the worst are the Americans that constantly compare here with there. It's always bigger and better.

Bro. Believe me. I respect your opinion. LOL. I've had this conversation more than once with different people from around the world. AT the end, I tell the same to south americans. I respect your opinions because that's the way you think, that's the way you plan, that's the way you use your logic and that's your explanation of common sense and existencialism.

Now eho can decide who's right and who's not? Simple. Under your psychological profile, South American countries have been ruled and built for hundreds of years; in the other hand, Americans with their profile, have ruled and built The United States for hundreds of years; who's been more successful? .....................I know...you'll never mention the answer. Everybody knows already.

P.S. And no, I swear, if for any reason some day The United States go down, I will never leave this country for "a better one". Remember I never came here because I was "looking a better opportunity". And I don't even feel that I came here in my daily life. I just feel from here and would die 10 times if necessary for this nation. The rest of the world for me never was, is not, and will never be an option. Period.
