The "Zone" Diet.

I was wondering how many of you out there have tried this diet and if so, what type of results you were able to attain using Dr. Sears' system.

Personally, I used it about 6 years ago and had great results. I was very active at the time, but I was also training naturally.

I found it an easy diet to follow and when I read the books that Dr. Sears has written, much of it made sense.

I was a former chemistry major in college, so much of his Biochemistry data was of particular interest to me.

His Site is as follows if anyone cares to find out what it is all about.

Unfortunately, for this diet to appeal to the "average" or "mainstream" citizen, it has undergone some serious marketization and hooey-ization. When his first book came out, it was great, but since then, it seems that many have jumped on the bandwagon to try and get a piece of the pie from the majority of the overweight public that is willing to try anything to lose weight without putting out effort (run on sentence).

it's like anything else-works for some people and not for others-it is a sensible system, but each person has different goals and therefore requires a different type of diet

I've read a lot of diet books lately and none of them grabbed me. The only thing that seems to matter for me is eating a lot of protein and lifting...everything else is a distant second.

That, of course, doesn't apply to athletes but my needs are much simpler.

i am a ZONE DIET advocate...my results are continuous and it makes it real easy to reach the -10% bf levels i seek during certain periods of the year.i seem to maintain or add(depending on caloric intake) and drop fat consistently...in addition,i really can't handle CKD's...i beleive that a more well balanced approach is better for me in the long run...health wise.my goals are met at all times w/ this diet and recommend it to anyone...worked awesome while natural and even better while "on"...

Good input, thanks, dude.

I am going to go back on it once my cycle and post game therapy is complete. I hope to get as lean as possible and then will go back on (cycle) next spring.
