The most worthless exercise...

BIG ANDY69,

I AGREE W/ THE BAD FORM ON MOST PEOPLE...BUT IT DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE EXRECISE IS WORTHLESS.CABLE CRUNCHES ARE ACTUALLY VERY PRODUCTIVE WHEN DONE "RIGHT";THEY ADD OVERLOAD TO THE ABDOMINAL WALL,THEREFORE CREATING THAT RIPPLED LOOK,WHEN BF% IS OBVIOUSLY LOW.AS FOR LEG RAISES,GREAT EXERCISE AS WELL.BUT HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE YOU SEEN,SWINGING LIKE MONKEYS WITHOUT THE PROPER FORM AS WELL?ANY EXERCISE CAN LOOK SILLY WHEN NOT PROPERLY EXECUTED.

if you don't like it,get the fuck out!

i have tried db pullovers but get little out of them. as much controversy as this may cause, i have little use for exercises done on the smith machine. i prefer free weights at all times(i understand it's use when you don't have a spotter)

PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW WHEN THEIR CONQUERED

I like the ones most of you seem to hate and hate the ones you seem to love......lol.
Seriously though- bench presses- did almost nothing for me, Dumbell pressess- seemed to be a complete waste of time, Alternating DB curls the same thing. Instead I do Incline Presses on the smith machine, Front presses and any other kind of curl- usually barbell or machine curl.
Leg Extensions work for me, but you have to go heavy, none of this 50 lbs crap.Do them with over 250lbs and see if that makes a difference. Still not as good as the BB SQuat though.
Pullovers I recently starrted doing again, and I went from 100 lbs to 110 lbs in two workouts while using BFT style training.
Sorry for the long post.

i got you all beat:
in my gym there is a machine, where you sit down and put your head in some contraption and move your neck sideways: not only useless, but extremely dangerous.

Leg Extensions. Ok, good for quads I guess - but it kills my knees. This the only exercise I don't use. Not even to mix things up for muscle shock.

Actually I love leg extensions. I do them either before or after squats, but I wouldn't go through a leg day without them.

Some exercises just don't feel right to some people even when done with perfect form.

i love leg extensions and cable crunches...the latter i get great burn, but no one else does them right from what ive seen. id like to see if there was a cable exercise that hits the lower abs too (i get some but not much burn when doing overheads.

worst exercise for me is leg curl...ive been stuck on the same weight for....well for ever. they suck for me big time

Funny how almost every lift has its detractors and serious proponents, isn't it?

Let's see someone make a case for these:

-Smith machine squats?
-hack squats (vs. front squats)
-Decline bench (i mentioned it above)
-good mornings

Squats and deadlifts.

Oh, wait, no.

i'd say decline bench. Just because I do dips and flat bench, and decline doesn't hit anything these two don't hit better.

You think squats and deadlifts are worthless? Are you out of your fucking mind?

must be Good Mornings .... there are other better exercises ... like T-bars and lat pulls.

Good mornings are okay but dangerous for your lower back, even when performed perfectly. A lower back machine or hyper extensions are a much safer alternative.
