They have to be one of the all time greatest bands ever.

Their music is some of the most hypnotic I have ever listened to. I almost never tire of listening to them.

I actually think that you could astral travel listening to them.

I agree. The end is agreat song aswell as many others.
It's sad how jim let himself go though. He killed his talent.
Led zeppelin is also a band I never tire of!

JIMMY PAGE IS THE KASHMIR WIZARD

Naw, no doobie, I am just in a rather good mood tonight. Too bad I am single and don't have a good woman, oh what fun we would have!

You can't fuck with the Lizard King. Let's face it, he was The Doors, that was proven with there shitty ass releases after he died.

I keep forgetting to pick that movie up on DVD. That was Val Kilmer's best acting ever. He did an awesome Jim Morrison.

The Doors are definately in my top 3 of favorite bands. My favorite Doors song is 5 to 1.

You're single? Then that leaves you plenty of time to give me online tutorials of every part of PhotoShop 6.0, my brotha!!!

I agree AB....The End is my Fav. song, and I have all of JM books of poetry....Great Stuff....still read it for hours...

I will tutor you with what I can. I am home mwf and the weekends scanning pic's and stuff like that. Usually on between 8-10 weekdays and whenever I can on weekends when I am working. Email the quetions and if I can answer I will.

It is a shame he killed himself. I think he really did have some special insight. The movie is awesome. Val did all of the singing himself. Damn he is good.

The end is probably the best when in an alternate state. Road House Blues is one of the best too stir shit up and I really like light my fire.

Shit, rebel rousing music? Hell I am a heavy metal freak from hell and then some. I even like classical music.

Kashmir is the shiat. That and when the levee breaks both rule. Zeppelin rules.

House of the rising sun is another favorite

I like his live recordings the best. He'd just get all trashed and go off saying some crazy shit.

Oliver Stone couldn't end the movie like he wanted too. Pam's family had some sort of rights and wouldn't allow it. The Lizard King : The Essential Jim Morrison, is a cool book to read. The author has a few scenarios surrounding Morrison's death at the end of the book. The one I subscribe to is about how Jim didn't like Pam to mess with Heroin and he was drunk off whiskey one night and came across one of Pam's bags and she told him it was coke because she didn't want to hear his shit about doing H. He ended up doing a few lines of it later on and ended up OD'ing. Pam then tried to revive him by putting him in the tub full of cold water, where he was later found.

Here is one you wouldn't expect from me.

Styx, Babe I love you and Lady, and Don't let it end. Some of the best.

to talk about which zeppelin song is the best is a waste of time. Because every song is fucking awesome.

I know my favorite changes all the time.... I guess that is cause I love them all.....except for Hot Dog... what a dumb one that is..

O yeah I love "In my time of dying" too.

Damn, time to put some on.

Love me two times. Oh baby! Love me twice today.

Damn, now I really miss a companion!

The zep is king. As a matter of fact,I am listening to a zep bootleg right now.

I think hey hey what can I do,achilles last stand, when the levee breaks oh fuck I could go on.
Every song is a masterpiece. It's sad how the band eventually turned out. The '77 tour being cut short because of plant's son dying. Plant getting in a car accident.
That was what really killed the band. The 80 tour was their downhill spiral, one really unfortunate thing other than john bonham dying(FUCK!) was that they were gonna tour the states that year.
Anyone happen to see page/plant or page and the crowes?

I think the Doors version of The House of the Rising Sun is really appropriate for our time especially now

Well, also This is the end could be appropriate too.

I am a huge Doors fan- 5 to 1 has got to be my favorite song by them. God I love that song. Also a big fan of unknown soilder.

What movie was peace frog used in? I can't remember, but it is a modern movie.

You know we forgot a very important song.

I'm your back door man!

Yeah, so I got diarea of the mouth tonight. Live with it. (hehe)

I have been listening to the Doors all night. Listening to the Ghost Song,

It was Jim's voice that really makes the band and the songs. With his voice combined with the music it becomes very hypnotic. Without him the music would be not all that great, but he seems to supply an extra piece to the puzzle that really makes the music stand out.

I am convinced had he lived he would have been one hell of speaker. He could have even won the presidency. He seemed to have that ability to hypnotize his listener's almost instantly.

Very wild. I also can't believe how eerily his and Val Kilmer's voice are similar.

What someone older than me on here! Thank God for the truth! :) I was 8 in 69'.

Riders on the Storm is my favorite doors tune.

The Doors are excellent, one of my favorites.
Now if you dont have "American Prayer" and you are a Doors fan then you need to be hung on a meat hook and have your left eye socket mangled by a rusty phillips driver. peace

Well this one time...at band camp,,, oops wrong story.

I love the dorrs. In fact the very first time I sang with any type of band or in front of a group of people I sang Road House Blues and kicked ass from what I was told by people after. There was a bit of a Jim rambling I did in it off the cuff.

Funny part is I just walked up to this bar band between sets and told them I could sing good and if they let me do a tune I would not dissapoint.

The end and light my fire are my faves.

5 to 1 baby, 1 to 5, no one here gets out alive.........

The Lizard King rocks......

If you want to read a really good book, check out

"No One Here Gets Out Alive" - I think Danny Sugarman co-wrote it. A really good account of Morrison's life.......

Oh, and if you can find a copy of "An American Prayer" get it.

Spoken piece recorded on his birthday.....Classic.

Doesn't Riders allude to a serial killer???

You're joking right?

Of course I am... I'm sorry but I thought the McCartny comment was dripping with sarcasm. I figged e'rybody would get it. I guess it's never safe to assume.

HAHHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH. Hot dog does suck!!! They really must have been shitfaced when they wrote that!

But I'm with you, my favorite song changes from time to time.

I will always love how Heartbreaker leads right into Living Loving Maid. HELL YEAH!!!

Ive always like LA Woman a lot. The Doors are fucking awesome, the movie kicked ass as well. Do any of you believe in that theory of Morrison faking his death and that hes still alive?

Of course I do!

He, Elvis, Kurt, and 2Pac are all playing Go Fish in the Bahamas... Aaliyah's got next.
