The brand-new new music thread

Quick reviews:

Painkiller - Jesus. Best Priest I've heard. If you like metal, and don't like Judas Priest, shoot yourself in the head.

Pitch Black Effects - Meh. Kinda mediocre. The other release I have from them, Flesh Power Dominion, is so much more melodeath than this. A few really catchy songs though.

I've never been a Priest fan....(reaches for the .45)....BUT.... I've never taken much time to give their music a real chance. I guess I just haven't gotten around to listening to that much of it. So I can't really say whether I like or dislike them.

I haven't been able to find Pitch Black Effects anywhere yet. I'll probably just order online. Shame to hear it's not that great. Flesh_Power_Dominion and My Passion_Your Pain are both damn good albums. Both are prime examples of what melo-death should sound like. The only song I've heard off the new album is Sweet Cyanide, which I think is a solid track.

New Kalmah is cool. The vocals are deeper. Some of the arrangements are kind of middle of the road. Sounds like Amon Amarth at points instead of Bodom.

I didn't even know Kalmah released a new album. I'll definitely have to pick that up.

Everyone needs to check out Echosilence. Amazing. Jazzy metal like Cynic/Aghora.

Also, the new Darkthrone is pretty good. Really thrashy midpaced blackened rock. Great guitar tone. Good songs if you want to get trashed on whiskey by yourself.

Grand Illusion: Pretty good power metal. Still Alive is a great song.
