That new Star Trek movie sucked butthole

Hollywood doesn't make movies to impress you - they make movies to make money.

.. and that it did. Nothing else to see, move on people.

c

I think that's overgeneralizing it. Of course they make movies to impress people. No impressing, no money. RottenWillow appears to be one of the few unimpressed in this case lol.

Almost 60 posts and nobody's even needed to pull out the Kirk/alien fight video. Why? Because all the olds arguing in Kirk's favor have no leg to stand on. Horrible acting, lame scene after lame scene, a supporting cast that helped define him by taking the spotlight away from his absolute shittiness... it was little more than a nighttime comedy with which Roddenberry learned to make mistakes and screw around whilst shaping his vision and writing towards his most preftigious apogee.

TBF, Kirk was pretty good in that movie with Picard; the one with the temporal anomoly (yeah, that narrows it down, lol). Probably because he was acting alongside a master; Shatner coudn't even pass a 6th grade recital of Shakespeare, let alone hold a candle to Stewart.

Fail.

We're talking about the CHARACTERS, not the ACTORS that play them.

I'm an old smiley face?LOL

Yes it was a great ending to the series. I'll also concede that Patrick Stewart is a far superior actor to William Shatner. I would love to see Stewart on stage especially in a Shakespearean role.

But Shatner has made an assload of money making fun of his own shitty acting, so I have to give credit where credit is due.

OMG, I so want to buy some DVD recordings of Stewart doing Shakespeare. I think I saw them out there somewhere.

Fine. Kirk's CHARACTER was a pussy. Not a real man like Riker. Hell, Crusher was more of a man than Kirky.

(BTW, does Redsamuri's poasting style remind anyone else of Kirk's speech? He talks... like this... in every... poast... :D)

Did you see when he hosted saturday night live? Pure fucking brilliance. If you could get him, Christopher Plummer, and Kenneth Brannagh on stage together at the Globe doing Hamlet, there would be no need for any stage production ever again.

He DID?!

I never knew that. :(

*hangs head in shame*

Yep in like 94 or 95. He does a bit as the devil in full faustian garb. He also does another one as Phil McKraken Scottish therapist with Mike Meyers (if it's not Scottish it's crap). But the best one was as the owner of an erotic cake bakery.

And I'd have to say EPIC FAIL!

Need I remind you that Riker spent his career playing second banana? Kirk had too much drive to be anything less than the captain. Sure, Riker was more aggressive than Picard when it came to tactics, but he was still all too happy to stay in the comfort zone of being Picard's 'number one'.
