I am on my way out to train, but got an interesting email through my website today from the volleyball department at Texas A&M...

I wanted to know if any of the board members were students there and what your thoughts on this are.

They are basically having an auction for "celebrity memorabilia" (God... I think they sent the email to THE WRONG person - LOL! I am just a hausfrau who lifts.) and asked for my participation. Needless to say I am BEYOND flattered... hehehehehee

So what do you all think I should donate? hehehehehhehee

I will email the individual and ask for more specifics myself, but I just thought that this would be funny for your guys to kick around.

First of all, it is my expert opinion that Texas A&M University is the best college in Texas and anyone else who says so is a damn t-sip and is looking to get the hell beat outta them!!!

Thats cool that they sent that to you. I would definitely look into it if I were you. You can make tons of good contacts there and many opportunities could easily arise.

Give them a call or email back to them if you don't know what to donate, you'll find that they are very friendly.

Make sure that if you visit you swing by Northgate and visit the Dixie Chicken & Dry Bean Saloon!

As a matter of introduction my name is Binny Canales. I am the
women's volleyball coach and fund-raising coordinator for the Athletic Department at Texas A&M International University.

Our main fund-raising event this year will be a Benefit Dinner/
Celebrity Memorabilia Auction. We are in dire need of memorabilia for this auction. As a first year program we are feeling the constraints of a limited budget.

One of the primary goals of our program will be to support our local athletes who may not have the opportunity to play and continue their education otherwise. The money raised through our auction will be used to purchase supplies and equipment to make our athletes better prepared and better protected from injury.

I emailed him that I would autograph and donate the red posing suit that I wore in one of the pics that was printed in Ironman Mag last spring along with a few autographed pics.

I am extremely flattered and will be quite pleased if I can help out in some small way. I never did finish college... a situation that can ALWAYS be rectified.... STRONG BODIES and STRONG MINDS work synergistically.

Your right as to where the contact is from. The email is from one of the A&M system schools, not from the main universtiy in College Station. still i would reccomend helping out the student athletes in laredo to contiune their education. Our volleyball program at TAMU has been around for many years and is actually pretty damn good.
