Tendonitis help

I've had it in my right arm for a few months...has anyone had a cortison shot? How much can I expect to pay if I don't have insurance? Any other stuff help? Tried icing it down, etc...it just won't go away and is really hindering my arm and back workouts.

Have you stopped working out your arm for any amount of time. With tendonitis that is about all you can do is rest it for a few weeks.

Tendonitis sucks bigtime. Went to the Chiropractor today expecting rotor cuff issues and he said it was tendonitis. I felt like crying when he said i just had to stop lifting so much. I use topical pain killers that numb the shit out of my shoulder. I'm hoping that i don't make it worse but i refuse to stop.

I had the same problem when i reached 405 bench could not do it consisitant cause elbows would take turns with tendonitis.fucking doctors always want u to stop lifting for a month then ask do you need to be so big why are working out so much THEY DON"T FUCKING UNDERSTAND!!!! USE msm and vitamin C equal parts start out with 3grams a day and increase as needed .you will see results in the first few days .even if you get the msm glucosimain blend make sure you start off with 3grams of msm a day and increase as needed. i can squat 5plates with no wraps and no pain because of msm i don't need wraps until i get to 6plates. pm me let me know how it works.

Ok, I know what glucosamine(sp) is and Vitamin C, but what is MSM? No, I haven't stopped lifting...I just try to do stuff that doesn't hurt. I am ok with hammer curls and stuff like that...it's regular curls that freakin kill me if I go up in weight. Is taking time off my only solution? :(

Unfortunately the only thing that helps me is time off. Alieve works to dull the pain but time off is the only thing that gets rid of it for me.

MSM topical is nice also, if the tendon is near the skin surface.

For acute tendonitis, I would take 2-4 weeks off, do nothing but aerobics and lower body ( since its your arm ), and take ibuprofin 400mg x 2 for the first week, 400x1 for the 2nd. Stretch every day, including the injured area, ice down after all activities.

Continue with the stretching/icing after resumption of activities. Alwayws warm up before stretching or working out. I personally stretch after working out also.

Try not to get hooked on the ibuprofin, I did, its a crutch and will not allow your body to fully heal. But a couple weeks should be fine.

I agree with those guys that say take time off,

I had tendonitis in my left arm and did not stop working out, finally tore the biceps tendon, it's history now, can't be repaired.

yeah i have some in my knee right now from twisting it while training..i like a low dose of deca glucosamine, msm, chondroiton of course

For me time off really wasn't much of a choice cause mine hurt so bad I couldn't take tops of stuff, couldn't sleep on it, could do shit with it much less try to lift. That is your bodies way of telling to take it easy.
