TB down grades the Broncos expectations

Sorry to disagree but..........

Shanahan is known for being an offensive genius. Elway was likely able to trump Shanahans suggestions due to their very close friendship.....but Shanahan called the calls until Kubiak became the Offensive coordinator several years ago.

Elway called all of the plays for a very short time while he was having a rift with coach Reeves. Elway delivered an ultimatum to owner Bowlen....and Reeves was sent packin' to Atlanta.

Reeves was a very good coach and an excellent play caller.....but he sucked at draft picks. He used a #1 pick to replace Elway....the infamous Tommy 'Touchdown" Maddox pick. That was the beginning of the end for coach Reeves since Elway was very much in his prime at the time.

It was 'El Stupido X 10" (drafting Tommy Maddux with his #1 pick).

Reeves took a year or two off of Elways career by not providing protection in the front line. Elway retired due to excessive pain and soreness that never abated. Part of the reason os well over 500 sacks. Most of those were courtesy of coach Reeves paper sack offensive line. The reason that Elway was so exciting..............he was constantly running for his life.

Please leave a tip at the door.

Kubiak was good at calling the plays....but not as good as Shanahan.

Kubiak left this year to be a head coach of the Texans. His replacement ... has sucked eggs so far.

Yes because offensive geniouses call a run on third down on the 21 yard line when you are down by 1 and can win the game by kicking it with one of the most accurate kickers in history. Except for the fumble and resulting loss. Kubiak called all the offensive sets during the two superbowl seasons and Elway got to pick the actual plays in the huddle.
