tanning lotion skin irritation

I have this lotion called "Siren" in a psychedelic bluish/red bottle and it leaves splotches on my skin after I tan. It's like certain parts never even got tan, wtf. This has never happened before. It makes the rest of my skin red and then there are just unaffected spots about an inch big scattered around. Can anyone explain what the fuck it is?

I had a tanning accelerator that would make my skin itch really bad. I had to stop using it. I figure I was allergic to one of the ingredients. I didn't get blotches on my skin though.
