Taco Bell Meat: 88 Percent Beef, 12 Percent "Signature Recipe" - FoxNews.com
RVINE, Calif. – Taco Bell unleashed a new campaign Monday to refute claims that it used meat fillers in its products instead of the "seasoned ground beef" it advertised.
The ads feature some of the eateries' 150,000 employees and 350 franchise owners discussing the beef that is used in its products.
In one of the ads, a Taco Bell worker directs concerned customers to the restaurant's website where its ground beef recipe is listed.
"Our seasoned beef is 88 percent premium ground beef and 12 percent signature recipe," the employee says in the spot. "If you want to see that signature recipe, go to tacobell.com. It's right there."
The nationwide roll-out includes TV, internet, radio and social networking spots. The company is also offering its Crunchwrap Supreme taco for $.88 cents through March 5 to lure skeptical customers back into its eateries.
A suit filed against the fast food chain in January claimed the "beef" products sold in its restaurants made of a "taco meat filling" consisting of "extenders and other non-meat substances" did not meet the minimum standards set by the US Department of Agriculture.
It also claimed Taco Bell, which is owned by Yum! Brands misrepresented some ingredients as "seasonings" when they were added to increase a product's volume rather than enhance its flavor.

88% is much better than I expected.

And TB is the shizzle. I'd get some now if I didn't have a customer dinner at 8:00.

Bring it to the dinner rob, for that down to earth, approachable, "regular guy" image. Gotta give off the right vibes when looking to impress

I can't help but wonder if it has always been that good a ratio, or if they had to improve it in advance of this ad campaign? At any rate, I'm gonna order up 5 soft taco supremes the next time I'm in a town with a Taco Bell (none where I live, thank God, or I'd be a fatty)

When I make meatballs it's probably 80% beef and 20% bread crumbs...jus sayin

exactly! plus, who the fuck thought you could get a bag full of food for $4.98 and have it be all meat?? puh-leez! couple of ribeyes on my own grill cost me at least $10...and that's if the shit's on sale.

I went today. It was pretty good. I didn't notice that much difference in the meat. Maybe it was a little less greasy and the texture was a bit better, but it was about the same. I did try a new steak burrito they have. It was actually very very good. It wasn't quite as large as a Chipotle or Moe's burrito, but it was still pretty big (that's what she said). It was $4.99, so overall it was a better deal than paying like $8 for a Chipotle burrito. I recommend it.

I don't care what the ingredients are

The only way I'd quit Taco Bell is if I found it was marinated in cawk

just sayin'

88% is better than the 73% I'm eating now.

Yummmmmmm

more meat is good, but lol @ looking for that in a taco bell product. 3 am drunks and stoners are much more discriminating these days.

how many grams of protein is in their biggest motherfucker?

if anything, my concern would be unhealthy pseudo-food chemical additives, not the meat content.

What I had yesterday:

Quad* Steak TM Quesadilla

750 calories
36 g fat
46 g protein

Dude on a bulk cycle you could and should eat that 6 times per day.

as long as it doesn't have bones when you bite into it like a (sometimes) mcdonalds hamburger i'm fine with it. biting down and hearing/feeling a crunch = the gross!

Somebody found a whole rat in their burger in the last couple of years.
