Swimmer/Surfer here in SoCal. Got a 7'6", goin out tomorrow at 6am.
This thread is unbelievable to read.
You do NOT need growth hormone or testosterone boosters to become an adequate surfer again. You need to get your ass back in the pool and start swimming laps until you're in enough shape to be confident out in the ocean. Join the local master's club or whatever it takes.
As far as weightlifting goes, you'll want to do more high-rep exercises, start at low weight, and focus on the shoulders, triceps, and back (I still prefer to workout the entire body, but these are most important for paddling). Stretchcords are a godsend for warming up.
For diet, you need clean foods and about 1g protein per pound of lean body mass, every day. I'm guessing around 2500 calories a day would work best, but you should post your height/weight.
Once again, take it from a surfer who's in this industry - You do NOT need growth hormone or testosterone boosters to become an adequate surfer.
that's kind of what i was alluding to. . .the ability to hold your breath for long periods of time is a result of lung capacity and how efficiently your body uses oxygen. . .and that is a matter of genetics and cardiovascular fitness. . .
