Supporting my theory for adding Dostinex to combat SSRI lethargy

I wrote previously in regards to adding dostinex if some members are taking an SSRI, to combat lack of lifting motivation/lethargy,lack of libido and gyno induced from SSRI's or more so from trycyclics.
Here's an interesting article to support this.....

Addition of a dopamine agonist, cabergoline, to a serotonin-noradrenalin reuptake inhibitor, milnacipran as a therapeutic option in the treatment of refractory depression: two case reports.

We illustrate 2 patients with depression who attained dramatic improvement of energy loss and fatigue when treated with cabergoline, a dopamine agonist, and milnacipran, a serotonin-noradrenalin reuptake inhibitor. Although the biologic basis of energy, motivation, and fatigue in association with depression remains unknown, some reports suggest that the decrease of noradrenalin and dopamine in the brain are particularly related to these symptoms. Therefore, treatment strategy that enhances these two monoamine neurotransmissions may be appropriate for getting a boost in energy and eliminating fatigue in patients with depression. These cases suggest that further studies are warranted to confirm the potential benefit of this strategy in the treatment of patients with depression who failed to attain complete remission due to residual symptoms including energy loss and fatigue refractory to previous treatments.

I really think if you aren't motivated to lift that even manipulating your dopamine levels will not cure it.

lifting is hard. a lot of times after a long day at work we just do not have the motivation, or when dealing with a nagging injury, or life in general.. or when you didn't eat well that day. add it all up and we do it cause we are sick fucks, nobody else on this planet puts themselves through this physical and mental pain like we do. people do not want to push themselves

Dox is far from a totally benign drug. Expecting it to be a cure-all is not the way to go, expecially since most of the things are psychological.

Yeah I agree. Im not so sure its worth messing with your neurological rewards system and having to stay on caber potentially forever.

SSRIs are worthless drugs for depression. This has been shown by comparing them to placebo. In the clinical trials submitted to the FDA the drugs were not significantly better than placebo. If you factor in the failed trials then they are equally as effective as placebo.

One of the best things you can take to naturally release dopamine levels is green tea. The polyphenols in green tea naturally raise seratonin and dopamine levels (your body's feel good hormones).

I regularly sip green tea throughout the day. In the summer I drink iced green tea and in the winter I drink warm green tea.

Simple, easy and effective
