supporting evidence that chemically enhanced users don't need outrageous protein

but isn't 2 per lb still too much? even getting 1.5 per lb lbm feels like WORK for me.. but then again I was trying to get it from whole foods.. i.e. eating 1 dozen raw eggs a day + a pound and a half of chicken wings, tons of milk.. I do IF so that might have something to do with it.. getting 3500-4000 cals a day in an 8 hour window lol

Everyone is different. Variables are so vast as well. This info is coming from seminars where they are asked this question and is really meant to be kind of a guidline. U know ur body and how u respond so ingest accordingly. For me its bout 1.5-2 but someone else may get the same results at 1. An 8 hr window is insane to pack that much calories in. All that milk doesnt put fat on u? I used to drink 1/2 gal of whole milk a day to gain weight. It did that but also put unwanted fat on

on intermittent fasting you get used too it.. i'll eat 1k calories, wait an hour eat another 1k calories.. wait and be hungry again... and yes it does put fat around the midsection drinking 1/2 gallon - 2 gallon a day..at the moment i'm going down too about 1g per pound lbm and gonna see how that works and if I'm able to put on just as much.. we'll see..

Oh wow, a 170lb guy thinks nobody needs more than 1.5g protein per pound of body weight. Let's all get right on that so nobody goes over 200 lbs.

joonp is right. What works for some doesn't necessarily work for all. I gain muscle best on a high protein, moderate fat, low to moderate carb diet. Others get huge and stay lean on high carbs, moderate protein, low fat. But all the 250-300+ lb'ers I know are getting at least 2g/lb protein. Study that!

Just find what works for you, to get you to the goal you desire. If your goal is 200-220, that's pretty doable by anyone. If you want to get up to 280-300, you will have to go to extremes.

I know George Farah never has his clients take in too much protein. He always stays around 1.5g per pound with everyone and sometimes less. He trains the top pros in the top pros in the world including branch warren and kai Greene. Anybody that has watched this years Olympia seen the biggest Kai ever, and probably the biggest guy ever to grace the Olympia stage. He was 291 at one week out and hasn't been over 400g protein in a very long time according to Farah. He pushes more carbs, very low fat, and moderate protein. I follow the same approach as well.

Layne Norton also claims a maximum absorption rate of protein at 1.3-1 .4g per pound in a perfect world scenario but its often much less. He studied this extensively and got his doctorate in amino acids and protein synthesis, so I think his claim has a lot of validity.

Excess protein stresses the kidneys big time, and you could end up on dialysis if you go to too much extreme
