Stronglifts 5*5 is good and simple. Also the 5/3/1 mentioned is good. I've done both and got good results. Stronglifts.com has several programs you can check out, or really any other lifting website should have layouts. Charles Poliquin would be a good person to check out and see if he has a training program to strengthen runners if thats what you're looking for.
