ok. no idea how it happened but i managed to strain my back and it fucking hurts bad when i do certain exercises...
where should i go from here?? stop all exercies where i feel pain? stop completely until it heels properly? or other??
pls help

If you have a hot water bottle or heating pad, try heating the affected area, then stretching it really good. On top of that, you could try some light exercises for that area. I wouldn't stop doing other exercises just yet.
I toasted mine a while back doing heavy good morning, to the point where I basicallly couldn't train, doing the above basically fixed it.

goto a sports chiropractor

Assuming it's a muscle pull of some sort, do everything needsize said and stay off it for at least a week, preferrably two. That means no back stuff at the gym. Give it a chance to heal up.

so just lay of my back exercises? but can still do everything else?

Train your abs, see a chiropractor, take ibuprofen, orudis kt, icy hot, dmso, rev hypers...etc....

Train your abs.....reverse hyperextensions....good morning with bands for high reps.

You should be able to do most press excercises, unless that is painful as well. If everything hurts to do, take a week off.

ART

Do a web search for A.R.T or active relase therapy. Its a varation of deep tissue massage.

I have 2 herniated disks at c4,c5 ( Just below neck). Had me out of action for a few years.

I was hooked up with art from some guy on another board. Well its like a miracle. The Doc hooked me up in one visit. No more pain. The pain used to radiate down my right arm all the way to my fingers.

I went back for other visits and the doc fixed some old shoulder injuries as well as some new ones.

Its worth a shot

would an acupunctures help?

I have no idea, I'm not into having pins stuck all over my body, well, not unless there is gear in them!

Have you taken anyone's advice yet?

How did you hurt your back? How does it hurt? Where? For how long? When does it bother you the most?

You can´t give any advice without knowing at least that much.

Do heavy, heavy deadlifts every day for a week and then this weekend, help a friend or two move. Also, have a friend or coworker tackle you from behind for 30 minutes each morning at around 10am.

acupuntur can help some muscle tears if the are minor ones only though. The best thing the acupunctorist can do is ease the muscle spasming but they cannot really diagnose what is going on. Go see a chiropractor and get a deep tissue masage in the afflicted area.

ive been doing the stretching and been using the heated weat bag.. and its just been getting more sore. im at the stage where i can feel it most of the time

Flubber, sounds to me like it's time to take a break and let it heal. I strained my lower back last weekend doing heavy rows and it hurt like a bitch for about 4 days - I could barely lift a big of grocieries let alone train... So my advice would be to take a few days off from lifting and see whether it gets better - it mostly likely will.
