Steve's guide to starting your own organic veggie garden

But Neem oil is the shit. I put it on all tomato cages and all fencing. Also just spray around bottoms lighty. Has a weird smell. Works real well. Sounds funny but ant and slugs and those darn beetles hate it.

Steve, I want to thank you so much for starting this thread. I have set up an area at my place for a mini farm to begin next week. So excited, Dude! Totally inspired.

Im freaking out with the weather so warm, need some time to get finished. fyi, scrap sheets of copper around the perimeter will also deter slugs. Also diatemacious earth, its like razor wire to them damn things.

thats why i did this bro.. i help so many people on here with their diets and all of them have 1 thing in common.. THEY DON'T GET ENOUGH VEGGIES!! so this is why i made this thread, its easy for anyone to do it.. you don't have to be a great talent at gardening..

my garden is doing tremendous btw. i am picking lettuce and chard daily and throwing them on my burgers, making salads etc. its awesome and its saving me tons of money.. and its FRESH!! i dont have to worry about my stuff going bad in the fridge which is awesome.

spinach is struggling though.. and it seems like my brocolli is taking forever to get bigger. but i will wait and be patient.. no biggie.

I live in southern California and feel like everything grows here. I already have tomatoes and peppers growing seperately. What else should I grow (in order of priority)?

I have 4 different types lettuce. Peter Pan squash, cucumbers, 3 types tomatoes, bell peppers, banana peppers, halopeno. zuchini. peas, snap beans, raspberries, strawberries, thyme, garlic, chives, rosemary, 3 diff types basil, dill, cilantro, and parsley. thinking about swiss chard, and spinach also.

chard and lettuce are easy to grow.

you can even grow chard from seed, it grows fast.
