man i dont know about you guys but i still get nervous when i think of myself 20-30 yrs from now and wonder if steroids will seriously affect me---i guess in the back of my mind theres a voice saying "its not as safe as you think"

Good and interesting read thank you for posting.

Have to agree with powerforward as the article is subjective as only covers one aspect of their ''abuse'' with some referance to pain killers but do make a judgement of actual reasons for shortening of the lif span you would need to review the whole picture.

That is not saying that use of AAS were certainly contrinutory.

Wrongun!

It is kind of funny though that even wrestlers who don't use steroids- like Mankind (Mick Foley, Cactus Jack, Dude Love)- take painkillers. So it would seem to me that painkillers are at least as bad a problem as steroids are as far as wrestling goes.

Also, this article doesn't account for the fact that big people usually die early anyway. Andre the Giant, Wilt Chamberlain, Robert Wadley (or whatever is name was), etc. Especially when they use drugs, like John Belushi, Chris Farley, etc.

But interesting nonetheless. Although I'm not sure I really care for the author centering his article around the premise that we should have been up in arms because of the British Bulldog's untimely death "due to steroid use". I saw a feature about him on WWE Uncensored and there were long periods where that guy was so damn gooned out on the hardest prescription pain killers you can get that he could hardly string 2 consecutive sentences together for days on end. He'd just lay around taking morphine shots or whatever the hell it was. From the way they told it the guy would have been lucky to take the needle out of his arm long enough to go to the bathroom instead of shitting his pants, so it seems a little disingenuous to place the blame mostly on steroids.

There is a very fine line between use and abuse. Sort of like when you hear guys on here tell a person on their first cycle that it's okay to use a gram of test per week, or that their gains would be a lot better if they would only up the dosage some. A lot of people are already abusing, but just choose not to see that reality. Good read bro thanks.
