Stationary Bike Riding for fat loss w/o losing muscle

CytoMel

New member
I have an old stationary bike here and I figure I might aws well use it to help me cut up but I dont want to lose an muscle doing it....Anyone have a program for this or any ideas?

i dont know much for cardio but i'll throw an idea out...

maybe sprint intervals on the bike, like warming up then going all out for a minute then slow down for 30s then back up to full intensity

just an idea..

guerrilla cardio

ill explain

pedal for four minutes at moderate intensity

then increase the resistance and pedal for all your worth for 20 seconds

then to a light pedal for 10 seconds repeat until at 8 minutes, including the warm up then a 4 minute cool down

3 times a week in the morning before eating is ideal

this can also be done in the form of road bike, sprints ,and swimming

if anyone wants more info on any other form ill be happy to type it up

good luck

Could you type it up for doing it on a treadmill?

its not really reccomended for the treadmill because it is so hard to increase and decrease the speeds that fast but its relativly the same

stretch really good
warm up for 5 mins

then do teh 20sec sprints with 10 sec intervals until you have reached 12 mins then 5 min cool down

Its not hard to decrease on mine, just lower a little lever and it slows down almost imediately.

then your set,let me know how it works,im doing it on the bike because when its cold outside and i run i get weird pains like my lungs are freezing
