speed deadlits with bands

dg21

For those of you who do speed deadlifts with bands, how often do you do these, and what bands do you use with what percentage of your best deadlift?

I have used 225 and 315 with green bands and they seem awesome to me.

I just started doing these two weeks ago and they seems like they could really help my deadlift. I thought about doing them every week up until my circa max phase, which is three to four weeks away, then doing them every other week during the circa max. How does that sound? I just wanted to see what everyone else has had success with.

I take it they are reverse bands? not bands doubled over the bar from the floor? I think speed deadlifts are good for a couple times a month, even better when you on an inch or two of mats, that will help your grip and strength. Never done speed pulls from a hanging band so can't comment on that part.

dg, I end up doing these about twice a month I would guess. Reverse band dl's, right? I have never experimented with making them more frequent before circa max. I feel like they help the top portion more, and I need speed off the floor. So I usually choose to do speed pulls from a platform, with bands anchored at the floor. I suppose there's only one way to find out if that scheme will work for you. What are you going for in STL?

No, both of you got the wrong idea.

He is talking about speed pulls with doubled green band tension against them. (Not reverse band pulls)

I don't think we were wrong, I think we asked for clarification... ;)

In any event, I end up doing them about twice a month since I alternate with RBDL's. Still...only one way to know if the circa max scheme will help. Where's the sticking point? Or do you even HAVE one, ya big freak? LOL

be careful....

I like these a lot too, especially if your trouble is with the lockout.

But, I managed to pull both lats last training cycle, and I believe these contributed a lot to this.

I am now going to cycle these in every 3rd or 4th week.

good luck.

Sorry spatts, I didn't mena anything negative. I was just in a hurry and trying to explain what he was doing for clarification, but wasn't paying attention to the negative connotation I was implying.

Anyway, to also clarify, DG21 does have a sticking point at lockout. I'm pretty sure he could get 900 moving off the floor though.

Gotcha...I'm hunting down DG as we speak, because I need someone to train with until mid Jan, and he lives about 30 mins away. I get stuck below the knee. If I can get the damn thing off the floor I can lock it. I'd be interested to see if this scheme overtrains him or helps him.

Hannibal is at home in Florida visiting for a few weeks, and I'm too close to comp to be training at the local fitness center. I'm opening shop in 1500 square feet of unfinished space in my house, but until I have all my equipment, and an extra person, I need to find people to train with. Unless Hannibal needs to go back to Fl perm (grandmother is sick) it will just be a 2nd location for us. We will need the EQ When we open Mammoth Barbell anyway....assuming that's the name we go with.

...bet you didn't need that much info, huh?
