Sometimes I'm just sad...

That's an interesting eye condition. You can see, but you have a hard time gaging distances? Is that like driving with one eye covered? Too bad you don't have oodles of discretionary income to just go out and buy one of those mini cars that look like you're driving around in a squashed telephone booth. You could custom make one to have retractable windshields so you'd have the best of both worlds- a motorcycle with SOME extra protection. lol I'm turning into my mom- giving creative unrealistic advice.
I hate smart cars but they do seem to be the best option but those suckers are like $18k and I just moved and have no credit... :(
Yeah it affects my depth perception and 3D vision, say you put ur hand in front of me and ur other hand 5 inches behind it, and I will see them at equal distance :( I also have issues with light sensitivity and blurriness... this site shows images of how we see... KCVision

I have something called keratoconus that stops me from having a normal life, it makes me dependent of others since I cant drive, it diminishes my social life and limits my spontaneity....
I hate having an impulse to go to the mall or the store or whatever and having to ask someone to take me or worse having no one to take me and just sit and sulk.

My only option to fix this is a corneal transplant which I cant have because I just moved and dont have medical insurance yet, also it is considered a pre existing condition so I doubt it will be covered, also I am very afraid to do it due to fear of rejection to the new cornea.

I angers me that it is not considered an actually legal disability even though it totally is, I guess this is just me venting about my situation, I've thought of maybe buying a motorcycle, I might be able to drive that fine but it is so dangerous.... I just wish I could control my own life....

To all of you who are healthy, treasure it.... :(

Hope this turns around for you for the better someday :)
sorry to hear you're struggling with this.
hugs

Thanks trex, every now and then I get ultra aggravated and need to vent, this time it was because my mom was scheduled to go back to Costa Rica tomorrow but since my husband isnt getting here yet then poor useless Nancy needs to have someone to drive her around to work, the store, etc :(

I am of the mind that it is really a privilege to be able to help other people when they need it.
so you're actually doing them a favour karma-wise. ;)
hang in there

On the upside she doesnt have much to do in CR so returning with me is not too much of an inconvenience... still sucks though...

Nanny Giggler,
We have a place to go to rant. If you haven't seen it yet, it's in the groups section, New Beginings. We talk about whatever topic you want. It's a substance abuse group that morphed into a "whatever-you-want-to-talk-about" group. I hope you come and share your thoughts..

sorry to hear you story.. but life is so unfair, shit happens for no reason.. maybe god gave that kind of situation for you to learn something.. but lets not doubt god believe that one day you will be well and can be able to drive again, and not depend others..god will do everything for us.. lets just wait patiently..
