What state pays for sex reassignment surgery, Medicare certainly doesn't, that's an easy enough Google. I'll wager I personally know a LOT more people in the G/L/B/TV/TG community than you do, Brian, and I've never, never, never heard of sex reassignment surgery being paid for by any form of public medical assistance.
Bariatric surgery, yeah. Breast reduction surgery, yes. I personally know people who had those procedures done "on the taxpayers dime" but never reassignment surgery.
Transexualism has existed as long as humanity. It's been proven there is a measurable neurobiologic difference in a TG person's brain. You don't like it, that's your problem, not theirs.
Frankly, I'd rather my tax $$$ go to a TG to get their hormones and a nice pair of tits and a new vag (or tit removal and a nice penis) versus some senator's yearly pay hike ...
Oh, and finally ... Gender Identity Disorder is a long recognized psychological health problem. So basically if you don't want your precious tax dollars to pay to treat this disorder correctly, then neither should they go to treating schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD or anything else listed in the DSM.
