Something ocurred to me...

What state pays for sex reassignment surgery, Medicare certainly doesn't, that's an easy enough Google. I'll wager I personally know a LOT more people in the G/L/B/TV/TG community than you do, Brian, and I've never, never, never heard of sex reassignment surgery being paid for by any form of public medical assistance.

Bariatric surgery, yeah. Breast reduction surgery, yes. I personally know people who had those procedures done "on the taxpayers dime" but never reassignment surgery.

Transexualism has existed as long as humanity. It's been proven there is a measurable neurobiologic difference in a TG person's brain. You don't like it, that's your problem, not theirs.

Frankly, I'd rather my tax $$$ go to a TG to get their hormones and a nice pair of tits and a new vag (or tit removal and a nice penis) versus some senator's yearly pay hike ...

Oh, and finally ... Gender Identity Disorder is a long recognized psychological health problem. So basically if you don't want your precious tax dollars to pay to treat this disorder correctly, then neither should they go to treating schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD or anything else listed in the DSM.

FYI, if you're Native American, and not living on the reservation on welfare, there ain't SHIT for special benefits out there.

There are numerous set-asides for minorities, including:

- Government contracts designated for minority-owned businesses
- Loans and grants designated specifically for minority-owned businesses
- College grants and assistance programs specifically earmarked for minorities
- Hiring guidelines (the politically-correct term is an "opportunity hire")

But I wouldn't blame you for not knowing this. You've never mustered a legitimate effort to enter the workforce so there's really no way you'd know.

And I love the logic. Someone can declare their sexual orientation in blatant disregard for obvious chromosomal differences, yet when someone declares their racial makeup (which is sometimes genetically ambiguous to begin with), people start getting offended.

But I don't mind. I'm sure narrow-minded Christian conservatives were offended when people started declaring themselves different genders as well. We just need to educate people better and put an end to trans-raciophobia.
