Hello everyone, with the new year, I am finally going to lose the fat. However, I dont know much about working out, and there are some problems I will face. Let me start off by saying I am a 19 year old male, I weigh 253lbs, and I am 6' 3". Now, I am planning to lost about 30-40 lbs by this comming August for when I go away to school.

Now, I would like to know what can I eat? My doctor told me to cut out the carbs, she emphasized pasta and breads. What else should I stay away from? I have stopped drinking soda, only water from now on. What should I eat though, I heard steak, chicken, and tuna are good, but what else, and how much of it? I deliver food right now and it is at a Italian restrauant. I do get lunch from there about 3 days a week, but all we can get is sandwiches and pasta. And I was told not to eat those. Also, I will not be able to get money to join a gym. My financial situation is not in a good state right now, and I will barley be able to buy the food to lost weight. I do have a weight bench and a treadmill at home. If anyone can please help and tell me what to eat, when to eat it, I will. Thank you.

you can eat pasta, but i would only do it pre-work out, im not one for loading carbs after working out, i just get some erly in day, hit gym, then protein after that for the rest of the day, if i where you i wouldent try to just cut weight, just use it to gain muscle faster, its way easyer i have come to belive to put on muscle when u have some fat to work with, someone can correct me if im wrong. if your hittting weighst and gaining muscle your not going to "drop" weight very fast tho. i guess you would want to ask yourself if you want to lose fat, or weight...

I would suggest you post your current diet, and we tweak it out from there. Due to your financial position, giving you 'diet' foods which are usually expensive is unreasonable.

The gym issue is not a problem, 45min ED on a treadmill and 30min ED with weights should solve that problem.

Well, I dont really have a diet at all. Right now. I eat out every day, either at work or on my own, so the money from that I can use for healthier foods and cook them at home. I dont work out at all. Not even at home on my weights or treadmill which are just collecting dust. I would just like to know, what can I eat, and what should I shy away from. I was also wondering if I eat a salad, what kind of salad dressing should I use. I always eat salads with ALOT of ranch dressing which I know is very fattening. If someone can post a basic eating routing with the recepies on how to make the food, it would be appreciated. Thanks....

A decent starting point for any diet would be your current intake and divide it in half... maybe 2/3's would be a more resonable start. Good Luck bro.

your first task: start using you weight set at home and the treadmill

your second task: start eating 4-6 smaller meals per day, cut out junk food and try to add some veggies as a start
