Hey all, I'm a 19 year old college student. I am 6'6, 220 lbs, and I would like to lose about 20 lbs. I have read a couple of these forums but I do not really know all about all the slang and I don't know much about dieting. I understand that my weight is not bad for my height, however it is not all muscle, it is mostly fat. I am going to start working out again (took a break after basketball in highschool) and I'll be doing cardio, etc. but I would like to know a few things that I could eat that is easy for a college student to fix that would help me burn some fat. Sorry I'm such a newbie lol, any help would be appreciated!

Eat every couple hours...

Hmm... eggs are easy to do in college dorms. Liquid Egg Whites: buy them in a carton (buy more than 1 carton) you can microwave them and scramble them easily.

Rolled Oats are easy.

Organic Canned Tuna.

Whey protein shakes are easy in college.

All kinds of nuts (almonds, peanuts)

All Natural Peanut Butter (ANPB)

Yeah chicken is great.... you said college so I pictured a tiny dorm room with a microwave, a mini fridge, and a bed.

I was always suspicious of the chicken in the dining halls though.

well im in a dorm, but its apartment styled so we have a kitchen and whatnot, im just not very much of a chef, and when i try to grill chicken it always ends up fairly dry and not very flavorful... if anyone knows any quick and easy recipes that would be great... thanks

Boil some chicken, chop some onion, celery and garlic with a little bit of fat free mayo. CHICKEN SALAD!!!!
I like to melt cheese on it and put it in a wrap :verygood:

Thanx

Get a George Forman grill. Except the only thing that sucks is that when you use this appliance its allready tipped on a pretty nice angle to allow the juices to drip off. So what i do is put something underneath of the lowered end to make it level. It makes great tender chicken, fast and easy to use as well.

Eating good at college is so tough bro. My advise is to stick to a few basic foods. Lean meats like chicken, turkey, and tuna are great and pretty easy. If you have a grill you can cook up a bunch of chicken at once and have it ready for several meals. I know its tempting at college but stay away from the fast food and booze, they will stop your progress. And don't skip breakfast, try to have egg whites and oatmeal every morning. I know some of this stuff will lack in taste at first but it's mind over matter in time you will find ways to make things taste better or different ways to season things. Good Luck, college is tough to stay in shape at.
