Some boy elbowed my daughter in the eye at school.

Er, it probably would have been more effective if your daughter went to the school nurse and told her what happened and describe the person that did it than having her mother scream obcenities at the principal which well, will just make your daughter be treated like the daughter of "those parents".

Strange progression of events - if the principal yanks the phone wouldn't your daughter just turn around and tell this person what happened? So either there's more to the story, your daughter already has already had run ins with the principal or the principal is just a passive aggressive control freak that still calls out to momma in the middle of the night.

Does she know who this boy is?

I back her up. The bitch took the phone from her and didn't ask what happened. Lots of school employees are douchbags. You don't yank someone's phone out of their hand.

Is there a no cell rule in her school?

That could be why, if there is no rule well, then that's a whole other story.

They're not allowed to use the phone at school, but you don't yank it out of her hand. She went out in the parking lot to use it and she was talking to her mother on the phone when the bitch yanked it out of her hand and hung up on her mother. I would have been pissed too. I don't bow down to authority figures. If you abuse your authority, be prepared to be challenged by people with a spine.

Why was the principal in parking lot?
That's odd me as well.

I agree with where you're coming from, trust me, but there's holes through this entire event.

Yanking the phone is showing hostility so you have to ask yourself - is this a person that is typically hostile (ie: asshole), having a bad day, or just doesn't like your daughter.

I would find out where the boundaries are in regard to cell phone use on your daughter's school campus, where in the parking lost she was (near the school building - as in a few feet or was she well into the parking lot) and why was the principal in the parking lot? Coming from his or her car, saw your daughter on the phone and jumped up out of his or her seat and ran to your daughter to yank the phone out of her - sounds weird to me.

And aside form all that hooey - do you know who the kid IS? Hell, if I were your daughter I'd find the kid and say HEY, thanks for nothing ---- yahda yahda yahda.... and if the kid was a dick I'd tell someone about it. (Truth is - hmm in 5th grade I would have just punched the kid back to make it "even" oh wait - I did do that in 5th grade)

Has anyone in the school been notified (calmly) as to what happened prior to the cell phone?

Some (or more than some) school people only have power while their at work because at home their spouses own their asses so they have to be bulies at work to feel good about themselves.

I have to stop drinking coffee again.
It makes me crazy.

Good luck with your daughter - hope her eye heals up fast and well.

Thanks V. Her mother shouldn't have cursed at the principal. (I back up on that one). That indicates low class, but that is her mother. She did have a right to be angry though.

Did she at least kick his ass....

If I find out who did it, there will be consequences. In all reality, I won't be hitting anyone (probably) but he is going to have a problem and so might the school.

Okay, I'll just have to beat that boy's ass then. At the very least, scare the shit out of him so he doesn't do that to someone else.
Then you will get in big trouble for beating up a minor. Sucks, but it is true. Have another kid beat him up...lol.
