Sodium Question

Retains water and makes you look bloated. High blood pressure.

I recently learned (on another post), that you should consume about 1mg of sodium per daily calorie. Most foods should have enough sodium (and most more) to cover this, so you should not have to "supplement" it.

sodium is for sure my vice...

For a person of normal health, sodium does NOTHING adverse to you as the hormones of the body adjust to flush out the salt. I forget the name of the hormone at the moment.

Now why would they put sodium into gatorade?

Because it helps the glucose get absorbed via passive glucose uptake with less/no need for insulin.

I was thinking it was aldosterone. Wouldn't kill me to look it up. But, as mentioned, it really won't affect fat burning itself.

Aldosterone was it.

Aldactone is a diuretic and belongs to the subgroup of potassium-sparing
diuretics.
Aldactone is an aldosterone antagonist

Shit, I typed too damn fast........I knew they were related somehow as to how one works on the other, but forgot which was which. Thanks for the clarification, much appreciated!
