So is the U.S. going to attack Iran?

Bush wants to deal with this before he leaves office. A military stike is unlikely because he is unwilling to let his public opinion from at home and with the international community suffer more than what it has. But, it is the main topic of the UN right now. Anyway, the attack would be a strategic air strike campaign, much like the shock-and-awe campaign in Iraq. Only nuclear facilities would be targeted. But Iran has stepped up their military training to display their military might with their ships and helicopters. The best news is that they do not want to put any of our troops on the ground.

unfortunately i have to agree with you...and if we do...it should be strategic strikes...and we should keep as many resources as possible...but that will never happen...because the worlds public opinion wouldn't allow it...same in iraq it should be over and we should have all the oil we need...and if anybody objects they should be next...WOW...i used to be liberal democrat!

Iran, what military might. If they stalemated with Iraq in the 80's, there military sucks.

They have had 20 years to develop their technology. For obvious reasons, their military might will never be as superior as the United States military, nor would they have a chance if we chose to invade them, much like any other nation except Russia and China. We aren't afraid of their military, but these open demonstrations are meant to deter anyone from attacking them, basically saying, that if you come after us, we will not back down. What we should be worried about this the continuing of the development of nuclear weapons over there in which, there is no doubt in anyones mind, they would use it against the US first chance they had.

just leave our troops alone.

I don't think Americans give enough credit to the armed forces that protect us day in and day out. So many young men putting their lives in danger everyday so that you and me don't have to. I mean, yes they signed up for the military, so they should've known that there was the possibility of going to war, but I'd rather keep them home and safe. My friend is a marine who leaves his wife and two kids to train soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. I also have 2 friends at West Point, 1 at the naval academy, and 3 in the army. It sucks that we are constantly at conflict with one nation or another, but they are keeping us safe from terrorism.

Well from all the Buzz i've been catching up on..........not only may we attack it is very likely that we are going to and when we do we are going to use nuclear bombs. If this weren't a likely scenario then there wouldn't be high ranking officials turning in their badges left and right who don't want anything to do with a nuclear strike. I doubt they would up and quit their jobs if this weren't highly likely.

As far as this not happening because of Bush's approval ratings: I disagree. If anything all the recent info coming out about him lying and the 5 states (so far) calling for his impeachment will only hasten the neo-con's bomb dropping.

I am not in love with Iran, but I have to wonder about dropping nukes on them. They say it's a tactical nuke but it will probably end up being a disaster. Wheres all that radiation and fallout going to end up?

In the end this is just part of the plan for neo-con world domination-globalization plans at YOUR expense.

I could go on and on about that but I was told to shut the fuck up 2 years ago when I was bashing Bush and trying to convince you that Iran was next.

Here's your sign.

Why do they hate us so much. I didn't do anything to Khomenii or whatever his name is.

I have several good friends from Iran and they all say the same thing. They like America and Bush...mostly because the US attacked Iraq and they hate Iraq.

Something else to think about. Remember that Dubai Port thing...I do believe that more than 1/2 of the Dubai govt/Parliment is made up of Iranians.

We won't attack. If anything takes place, it will be sanctions or a group effort between the US and other UN countries.
