Usually before bed, I suggest a protein shake of Caseinate protein/Egg protein mixed with some flaxseed or MCT oil and 15-20g of psyllium husk fiber. I like the ProtienFactory protein mix of C+E.

What % breakdown do you like for the egg/casein?

I think a digestion w/ egg protein has been an issue for some people I've worked with; however, if you have no digestion problems I suggest about 50/50 of eat (% that is).

Can we make any warm or hot drinks with the cold weather coming in? How about a zero sugar protein bar?

You can as long as you're not on CKD. There is low-carb hot chocolate and hot sweet tea. Also, as for the zero sugar protein bars, they still have carbs in them; thus, if carbs are a concern to you than it's a no go, but if carbs are not a problem than you can go right on with the bars.

I watch my carbs, but need to put on some size and mass.....So, if my overall carbs and calories for the day are low, some hot cocoa with a little bit of protein powder (hope it disolves) and a ABB zero sugar protein bar would be a decent snack before bed? I'm current;y eating a bunch of roasted peanuts, and veggies w/ ff dip and a huge frosted protein shake.....just feel bloated in the am......hope I can make the switch....anyone partake?

I don't really snack, I eat a proper meal. Usually a turkey or chicken breast and a yam/sweet potato before I go to sleep.
I usually wake up feeling hungry.

I think the hot cocoa is fine and so is the sugar free protein bar as long as you add 100mg Glucorell-R and about 15g psyllium husk fiber after or before, you should be fine.

X - you're killing me....you never eat late night? Aside from a shake?

Nope never....if I do, it's 1 slice of bacon and 1 egg w/ some fiber :). But I guess if you like the stuff a lot, I would go ahead and have it, for treating yourself can be very helpful - epsecially in the long-run.

I guess if I can stay under 10% and eat late night, then why not? I look at it as repair from training and fuel for my am cardio.......

I think it would be fine, just add a big fiber before you eat/drink and you'll be fine.

then why dont you endulge bro? Contest prep? You got to in the off-season.....

I usually don't endulge, but if I do it's something I like once a week during a carb-up.

Mr. X what percent bodyfat are you? I mean are you a bodybuilder or just a mad scientist with the diet? Sorry just wanted to know

I haven't measured and hate to estimate, but to give you a little history - I was out of the gym for the past ballpark 6mo. b/c I injured my elbow and, lucky for me, knee. I had to have minor surgery; thus, at this point I'm a recovery patient.

I did compete in the past but found it very unforfilling when the health risks arose.
