Ok I was having an argument the other day. I say that drinking beer will affect gains more than smoking weed is this correct I'd like to hear som opinions

It would depend as to what extent that you partake of each. But in the gym and outside of the gym I have known many more fairly good bodybuilders that drank beer on occasion, than those who smoke a lot of pot. Pot robs you of your drive to workout with extreme intensity. There are also conflicting studies of pots testosterone inhibiting effects. To much alcohol will also lower test for a peroid of time. I would have to say that if you do either do so in moderation.

Well put --Moderation is key

I've read studies that have concluded that beer or any type of acoholic beverage can and will increase estrogen. I'm not sure if the source was a creditable one because I don't remember where I read it but that's what it said. Other than that.....I'm with those guys....Moderation.

I loose to much wieght when I drink thats why I have quit.....and I hate being high so thats not a problem either

Hmmmmm

I don't no. I don't smoke anything, but it would possibly hender your aerobic ability not letting you train properly.

I do like dark beers, and there the worst for calories and alchol.

I think drinking if it's beer, because I don't see to many fat liqor alcholics.

Besides marriage, Alcohol is the number one contributor to lowered testosterone levels. Smoking just promotes weezing and High Blood Pressure - gains are not effected, unless its because it makes you a lazy ass.

Okay, beer may have a ton of calories.....but how many people do you know that smoke up and then are able to resist pigging out on high-calorie junk food afterwards. If you must do either, drink some damn beer....convince yourself you're 'carbing-up' for an extra-killer workout the next day. Cheers!
