small hernia above belly button. can i still lift light?

I have been on a cycle for 1 month and have been pushing it to the limits. i found out that i have 2 small bubbles above my belly button which i have been told are hernias. they do not hurt at all but i have been getting bad stomach aches and dark brown stool which i think could be from the 100mg winnie pills. i have also been told that i need surgery. and i do not have insurance but was planning on getting some. can i wait to get insurance and lift light, high reps, and shred the muscle i have left? leaving out squats and deadlifts and other bending sets. and can i still do ab workouts?

If you have stomach aches then you should make a priority out of getting medical insurance. In the mean time I'd try and lift light, avoiding any movements that puts pressure on the effected area. I'd skip ab training.
You might try to wear some sort of belt or wrap to try to keep the hernia in, so it doesn't continually slip in and out through the tear - that makes the tear larger, and the hernia worse.
You should cycle off because some steroids thin the blood and could complicate your post op recovery.
I've had 2 hernia operations - both successful, and I hightly recommend them ASAP.
Good luck.

If you keep doing what you were doing to get it in the first place, than yes, it'll probably continue to get larger.
The one I had in my groin started out with just a tear, and no bulge. Within 6 months the bulge was the size of a grapefruit and was pushing against my right testicle.
The location of yours, is much less painless, so as long as it's not strangulated you should be OK for awhile.
A strangulated hernia is were the intestine is pushed through the abdominal wall (muscles and lining) and gets stuck there from the tension of the muscle. This is very serious and can cause gangrene and death (worst case scenerio - and rare). Lay down on your back and relax, and GENTLY (don't rush it) try to push the bulge back inside your abdominal wall. If the bulge goes back in it's not strangulated. If it's stuck outside the the abs then you'll want to see a doctor immediately - even without insurance.
Not trying to scare you, and I'm not a doctor, but I have personal experience that I'm sharing with you.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge will contribute to this thread, and you'll have a different perspective to consider.
A dark brown stool might be a matter of concern also - if by dark brown you mean black, or near black, that could mean bleeding in your digestive tract - also a very serious problem.
Try to find a county medical facility near you that you can go to in if this becomes an emergency. They'll (at least in Nevada) help you even if you don't have insurance, and will let you make payments on the bill.
God bless.

you're fine. go hard. Had my umbilical hernia for almost 2 years and never got much bigger than a quarter prior to getting it fixed.
