Skinnier legs?

I'm wondering what the best game plan is to make my legs appear smaller. My body type has always been the tall skinny guy, but after gaining some weight I seem to hold more fat around my hips and legs ( like a chick  ) I've stayed away from doing squats and leg exercises because I don't want my legs to look bigger. Should I start doing squats, extentions etc.. but just doing higher repetitions? I'm currently 6' 3" 217lbs and have a 34 waist ( not bad but I'd like to get back down to a 32 without having to drop down below 200lbs. Give a bro some advice :p

you shouldnt stop squating. you answered your own question, you've been gaining fat around your legs. the only way to get rid of this is to lower your bodyfat

dont buy into higher reps = definition/tone. thats a myth. low bf = defintion/tone

Step Off is right-- never stop working out a singel body part. I think TomPLatz said it best with 'Work your legs to build your arms". Even if you didn't want bigger legs, there is an effect in lifting that no matter what part you rain, all parts seem to grow--- you can only be lop-sided or disproportionate to a small degree.
