Sit-Ups

Simmers

New member
I have been doing sit-ups and when I hit about 10 my back has been straining recently. I have never had this happen before... Is my technique wrong or is it because I haven't done sit ups in a long while?

Try working in hypers - this will condition the lower back and balance out your core strength with the situps. It's pretty hard to screw up a sittup and if it's always around 10 reps that it manifests it points more to muscular fatigue.

Yep, improve the core. If the pain persists I would see a doctor just to make sure you don't have a mild slipped disk or something of that nature. Sit-ups are pretty low impact, so I couldn't see how it could be hurting your lower back without something being wrong.
