I read a court case once where the girl lied, she had a fake ID and the guy still went to jail. In some states there is no defense to statutory rape - guys get hosed.

there was case in england a year or so ago that springs to mind, a man slept with a girl who he met in a club, who later cried rape. the man was aquitted at trial, on the grounds that as she had managed to get into the club, he had no reason to believe that she was under-age, and, had the door staff done their jobs properly, she never would have been there.
but regarding r kelly, the guy has been in trouble for this before, and has probably began to think he can get away with it due to who he is. he needs to be shown that he is no different to any other twisted bastard who likes young girls, and thrown in jail, to learn what its like to have someone bigger and older than him bend him over and shaft him silly.
